Colours make cultures in La Habana

International Exhibition Posters for Cultural Diversity Inspired by the desire of contributing to promote reflection about the peoples rights to preserve the cultural diversity, and before the new challenges posed by the globalization of communications, the promoters of this Exhibition encourage the invited designers to express their approach on this critical topic, in a favorable environment, by means of the universal language of Poster.

The Cuban Progrfica, member of ICOGRADA invite 100 designers around the globe to express an ethical principle in which the cultural diversity could be examined as a "common legacy of mankind." The participant posters will contribute to generate a bigger conscience within the international community, the civil society, organisms and institutions from all over the world about the necessity of preserving the values implied in the defense of the cultural diversity.

An exhibition by invitation that will take place in the National Museum of Fine Arts (Universal Art Building), in Havana, Cuba, from October 20 to 26, 2007 as part of the collateral activities of the ICOGRADA World Design Congress "Design / Culture 2007." The Exhibition is organized under the auspices of the UNESCO Regional Office for Latin America and with the collaboration of the International Council of Graphic Design Associations, ICOGRADA.

About 100 designers is participating in the exhibition,15 Cubans among them. Around 30 are from different countries of Latin America and the rest are designers from all over the world. Majid Abbasi was invited from Iran to contributing in this event.
